The Trees are Moving

As you know, construction on 289/Preston Road is progressing at a rapid pace. We wanted to take this opportunity to update you on some of the effects construction will have on our entrance over the coming weeks and months, depending on the road expansion schedule.

  • There is a planned deceleration lane coming from the north for entry into Stone Creek which will ultimately result in the loss of the north entry planter box and wall that sits East/West. There is still some discussion around the need for this lane, but it has been part of the expansion plan for some time.
  • Our median will also be affected due to a change in elevation and incline from Preston Rd.

In order to save the bushes and Crepe Myrtles from the center median, and north planter box, we have begun to transplant those into the park area. Although water restrictions may present a problem, we hope many of them will survive. Please note that the larger trees on the north side of the entrance cannot be salvaged since the root systems are bundled with underground utilities, and it would be cost prohibitive to transplant them.

We apologize for any inconvenience this causes, and we will continue to provide updates as we have them. Please let us know if you have any questions and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
